Ludington North Breakwater Light
Did you know that the popular Ludington North Breakwater Light in Ludington, Michigan tilts slightly due to settling? The current white, four-sided tower on Lake Michigan is located at the end of the breakwater on the Pere Marquette Harbor and was lit in 1924 although the station was first established in 1871. The light was automated in 1972. The tower stands 57 feet tall with 53 steps to the top, and tours are often offered May through September. It can be seen from Stearns Park Beach in Ludington, Michigan.
