Tawas Point Lighthouse

Did you know that parts of underwater shipwrecks can sometimes be seen on clear days from high up in Tawas Point Lighthouse? Tawas Point Lighthouse, in Tawas Point State Park, marks the entrance to Tawas Bay along Lake Huron. It is located near the city of East Tawas in the Lower Peninsula of Michigan. The current lighthouse was operational from 1876 to 2016 and superseded an earlier lighthouse established in 1853. The lighthouse underwent preservation work in 2023.
