Crisp Point Lighthouse

Have you heard of Lake Superior’s Shipwreck Coast in Michigan? Crisp Point Lighthouse in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan is one of several lighthouses on Lake Superior that line a miles long area known as Shipwreck Coast. The name Shipwreck Coast is due to the large number of shipwrecks thought to be underwater offshore there—some of which have been discovered.

Crisp Point Lighthouse was opened in 1904. The remote lighthouse is located on Lake Superior in McMillan Township in Luce County, Michigan in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. The Crisp Point location was used as a life saving station beginning in 1876.
